Your health and well-being are our top priorities. To help you and your family stay active and well during these times, we have created a list of wellness resources for you. See below for tips, tutorials, and free content to promote healthy living.
 

 

HEALTH RESOURCES

  • Your Benefits: UnitedHealthcare (UHC) is our health care provider. For information on our health care plan, click here. To access and manage your health plan details, log in to myuhc.com. If you have not activated your account yet, click on Register Now and follow the step-by-step instructions.
  • Virtual Doctor Visits: With UHC, you can see a doctor from anywhere for just $5. The UHC virtual visit benefit allows you to see and talk to a doctor from your mobile device or computer without an appointment. To learn more about virtual visits, click here.
  • Talkspace: If you are covered under Power Design’s UnitedHealthcare insurance plan, you can get private counseling through your phone completely free. Learn how to access the service.
  • Cigna Life Assistance Program: Get referrals to licensed clinicians to help you with emotional, behavioral, and other issues. You can contact the program by dialing: 1.800.538.3543. To learn more, please click here.
  • Optum Helpline: Optum is offering a free emotional support helpline 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This helpline is open to everyone and provides access to trained mental health specialists. Here is the public toll-free number: 866-342-6892.
  • UHC Mobile App: The UHC mobile app puts your health plan at your fingertips. Download it to easily access your ID card, find nearby care, check prescription medication costs, and more. Available in the Apple Store and Google Play.
  • COVID-19 Online Screening: BayCare’s new online self-screening tool to help you check symptoms.

 

 

MENTAL WELLNESS RESOURCES

  • CDC Tips for Managing Stress: The CDC has developed guidelines on how to manage anxiety and stress during these times. View their tips by clicking here.
  • Staying Mentally Healthy: Check out this site filled with resources on stress management (they even have a stress screener!), workplace wellness, and other ways to live your life well.
  • COVID-19 Support Pack: Staying Informed, Thinking Critically, Making Decisions
  • PDiLEARN Course: Managing Stress and Anxiety
  • Get Better Sleep: When we sleep better, we feel better – physically and mentally. Learn more about how you can manage sleep in healthy ways.
  • Free Meditation Resources:
    • Take a deep breath and leverage some free meditation and calming tools from the Calm mobile app. You can access their free resources by clicking here (also available in Spanish!).
    • Take some more relaxation time with this free meditation app.
    • Mini Moments of Breathing: If apps and 30-minute meditations aren’t your thing, don’t worry! Even a small moment of breathing can calm your overcharged nervous system (which is that “pedal to the metal” feeling). So hit the pause button, breathe with intention, and take a moment to reset.

 

FITNESS RESOURCES

  • Movement for the Brain: Movement and staying active is not only physically beneficial, but it’s also good for your mental wellness. Learn more about how exercise helps reduce stress and anxiety.
  • PDI Fitness Facebook Group: Join our Wellness Team on FB for live workout sessions and more! Check out this week’s class schedule.
  • Les Mills Online Workouts: Access free online workouts from Les Mills, like BODYPUMP.
  • Peloton: Get a 90-day free trial of online workouts, including bootcamp, yoga, strength training, and more.
  • Class Pass: Get free access to Class Pass for the next 90 days. Note: it will ask for a credit card, but you will not be auto-enrolled in any plans.
  • Pinellas County Walking Trails: Parks, beaches, and playgrounds may be closed, but the Pinellas walking trails are NOT! Get some fresh air and go for a walk.
  • Stay Fit During Quarantine: Check out this variety of free fitness resources available to you.
  • SPIDERfit Kids: Helping inspire kids of all ages to be fit and physically literate for life with the power of play.
  • Barry’s Bootcamp: Barry’s is streaming three full-body workouts each day for free.
  • YMCA: The YMCA is featuring over 60 free online classes offering a range of options including boot camp, barre, yoga, weightlifting, boxing, and even Tai Chi.
  • Orange Theory: Every day, Orange Theory is offering free 30-minute workouts from instructors around the world.

 

 

STAYING CONNECTED

  • Distract and Redirect: Engage in activities that benefit your well-being, bring you joy, and distract you from existing challenges. Need some new ideas? Here are 100 fun things to do while inside!
  • Stay Connected: Connecting with your family, friends, and support systems can be done using technology like FaceTime, Skype, Google Hangout, and other video-based options. Here are some links to get started:
  • Want more ideas on things you can do virtually with your loved ones? Check out some resources below.
  • Limit Media Consumption: Avoiding continuous exposure to news, media, and social media that triggers or elevates anxiety, stress, or panic is key to protecting our state of mind. Experts recommend only following a few, authoritative resources, and consuming media for just 30 minutes a day.
