TWO-WAY RADIOS

What are Two-Way Radios?

Two-way radios are simple communication devices that can both receive and transmit a communication signal. PDI will be using the Motorola XPR 3300e hand radio across all job sites. Standardizing two-way hand radios across all job sites ensures PDI has the latest technology for our field employees.  The below features are just some of the benefits of this radio:

  • Enhanced Audio – Louder, virtually distortion-free audio for super clear communication.
  • Analog & Digital – Operates in both analog and digital modes. This provides the clearest communication between team members and any other trade using digital. Radios can also send/receive analog.
  • High-Performing – Battery life lasts for up to 28.5 hours.
  • Involved in Project Kickoff – IT will be present at all new project kickoff meetings where they will receive the order for the number of radios needed.
  • Setup, Shipping & Support – IT provides full radio support. Form pre-programming of radios, shipment to your job, and ongoing management – giving you peace of mind that your team will stay connected. Broken radio? IT supports that as well.
  • Radio Signal Improvements – Experiencing weak signals? Simply submit a request to IT and they will help to make any necessary adjustments to improve your signal.

How are these used at the job site?

Superintendents and Foremen use two-way radios to communicate quickly when they’re in different areas of the job site. We also program our radios to the GC channels so our team can easily communicate back and forth with the general contractor on the project.
